An artwork, an artist and an interior: in our series, we showcase contemporary artworks and illustrate how they fit into the interior. This time, we have placed a relief in a lounge area, dominated by clean, white colours.

There's nothing better than arriving at home after a long, tiring day. It's not just the living room and bedroom that can be a place to relax, you can also create a little corner of your own, just for slowing down. In this case, it's a good idea to opt for clean pastel colours, both in terms of furniture and wall colour, to achieve a meditative effect. You can't go wrong with a cosy armchair, a small table with books and plants, a stylish coffee table and an impressive artwork.

Monochrome harmony

To create a sense of tranquillity, we chose Anna Mark's monochrome relief, R 82 (1995), that almost blends into the space, while evoking exterior spaces and buildings by highlighting architectural elements. The reliefs, inspired by architectural ideas, are created using materials developed by the artist herself, based on resin, sand and marble dust. The work of art is worth looking at from different angles, as its essence is different depending on where the light is shone on it. Anna Mark's work combines constructivism and lyrical abstraction, drawing on the system of geometry to create a natural law in her work that is reflected in the inspirational power of the order of the world.
